(Santiago).- Sunday, May 14, was a very important day for Paula Navarro, Technical Director of the Santiago Morning women's team. And not only because the long-awaited classic against Colo-Colo at the Monumental stadium came to fruition, but also because Mother's Day was celebrated on that day.

The women's soccer tournament has acquired great notoriety due to the competitiveness shown by the teams, attracting the attention of important brands, such as the Latamwin online betting platform. Therefore, on this date it is worth reflecting on the spaces conquered by women in this activity, especially those who fulfill the double role of athletes and mothers, as is the case of Navarro, who shares her facet as a professional trainer with being the mother of Valentin, 1 year old.
"Soccer is a sport of discipline, teamwork, and a lot of sincerity. I think that these things have helped me a lot to teach and give knowledge to my son," says Navarro, convinced of the contribution of her profession in the formation of his little son. “There are great athletes, athletes and coaches who are moms and who know how difficult it is to work in sports. Especially in soccer, an industry made up of 99% men. So you have to be strong, persevering, not giving up,” she adds.
The coach thus refers to the difficulties that exist when balancing two roles that are very important for future generations, such as training young people to be professional soccer players and being a mother.
“Many times it happens to me that I say no more. But I am encouraged because I am committed to the project, committed to the girls, committed to the Club and also because I want to send a message to my son that one has to persevere and not give up”.
Navarro points out that “the experience of being a mother has been very nice and my son really likes football and sports and he is always linked to training: he comes with me to the field, he is with me on tours. It has been difficult, however, the fact that we are two mothers helps, since one rests a lot in the couple and she also shares the work of being with him, ”she points out.
Empowering women's football
Regarding the future of women's football, Navarro highlights that it is an industry that is growing and that requires generating more instances to make it visible, generate resources and advance in its professionalization, conquering new spaces for women every day. “I think the support that Latamwin gives us is very important. We need economic support to be able to train more girls and take them to professionalism, and thus add more companies, exclusively for the development of our women's soccer players," said coach Navarro.
